Compare tiles, liners and reinforced membranes
Tiles, liners and reinforced membranes offer different looks and installation methods. Water colour also depends on light and depth. We assess the base, steps, corners and use before comparing finishes.
What we review with you
- Colours, formats and surface feel
- Compatibility with the existing structure
- Step and corner detailing
Prepare the substrate and waterproofing
Decorative tiles alone do not waterproof a pool. Substrate preparation, waterproofing and product compatibility are planned together. Liners and membranes also need a suitable substrate and fittings.
What we review with you
- Condition, flatness and substrate preparation
- Waterproofing and wall fitting details
- Installation system and drying times
Tiled lining and travertine terrace.
The pool’s tiled lining and the travertine terrace are selected for their respective uses. Stone finish, slopes and coping transitions are planned for the surrounds. Tile layout organises cuts and alignments. The waterline, step edges and wall fittings need careful finishing. Coping connects the pool to the terrace, using materials suitable for each purpose.
What we review with you
- Alignment and cutting around fittings
- Joints and transitions between surfaces
- Continuity with coping and surrounds
Care for the finish and joints
Cleaning methods and products must suit the installed material. We explain refilling precautions, waterline cleaning and points to watch. Appropriate care helps preserve surfaces and joints.
What we review with you
- Products compatible with the finish
- Gentle cleaning and waterline care
- Check joints and detailed junctions
Your questions before we start
Discuss my projectDo tiles waterproof the pool?
No. Waterproofing must be provided by a system suited to the substrate and project. Tiles are a finish; preparation and installation products form a compatible system.
Can I change the water’s appearance?
Finish colour affects how water looks, alongside depth, weather and lighting. Photos and samples provide guidance without guaranteeing an identical result in every garden.
Is travertine suitable inside the pool?
We distinguish the interior finish from the terrace and coping. Each material is chosen for its intended use, finish and installation method. A stone used around a pool is not automatically intended for immersion.
